Did You Know... Gatorade and Powerade are made by the two major soda companies?
They even contain the same ingredients as soda; water and a bunch of chemicals. If you are an athlete or live a healthy, active lifestyle your body needs water and glucose to keep hydrated… Not "high fructose corn syrup." This is their chemical, man-made, fake sugar that is addictive and cheaper to manufacture. It is also 80 times sweeter than sugar. High fructose corn syrup slows down your metabolism, triggers anxiety, and is toxic to your body. When you are exercising your body doesn't want or know what to do with high fructose corn syrup, it craves water and natural glucose... Glucose is the type of sugar in your body that is burned off when you are exercising. Glucose comes primarily from carbohydrate foods. This is why water, by itself, doesn't hydrate and increase energy levels as well as glucose and water combined. As an athlete it is of vital importance that you watch what you put into your body. Just because a soda company has a great ad on television with paid athletes sweating green and blue Gatorade, doesn't mean that it is healthy for you or you should drink it. Read the ingredients and look up each chemical in these commercial sports drinks. See what it does to your body.
