Back Pain Problems
Did You Know... Back pain is not a diagnosis, it is a symptom of an underlying condition.
Common back pain causes include: At Diet Health and Fitness we highly recommend seeing a chiropractor at least once a year. If you can, try to use a chiropractor that has been practicing in your area for at least 5-10 years... Although a good chiropractor can work wonders you need to be cautious when you choose one because some are a straight scam. If after a couple visits they are still telling you to "come back" all the time, at "$20 a visit" but you don't really feel any improvement, find another chiropractor. How To Keep A Healthy Back A chiropractor will only be able to do so much if you don't practice regular exercise, yoga, tai chi, following a proper diet, or keeping a healthy mind and weight. Links to resources to keep up on all of these aspects of health are available throughout this website. You should also see a doctor once a year to have x-rays done. The x-ray equipment at hospitals is usually much better than the one at your chiropractor's office and can show more clearly any abnormalities in the spine. You must consult with a doctor immediately if you are completely handicapped from your back pain as it may require medical attention and/or more serious treatment, such as surgery. How To Diminish Your Back Pain Believe it or not, your diet plays a huge role in determining the intensity of your back pain. If you eat a diet loaded with processed foods and sugar you will experience more pain than someone who eats a healthy diet of organic fruits and vegetables... One rule of thumb is to only shop around the perimeter of your grocery store. That is where all the "real" food is. Don't Get Caught In The Vicious Cycle Many people, because they are experiencing back pain, will walk or run less and sometimes stop their exercise routine altogether... When you exercise less your muscles, tendons, joints, bones, and ligaments will all become weaker and you gain weight from the lack of exercise. Each will put excess strain on your back and cause you more problems in the future. If you are unsure as to what exercises you can or can't do consult with your doctor or chiropractor.
