Brue Baker

My education in health and wellness started at a very young age. My father is a medical doctor and my mother is a natural health expert and yoga instructor. This gave me a perfectly balanced perspective on the importance of medicine and natural healing…

Ironically, however, I wasn't always perfectly healthy. After graduating college I was twenty pounds overweight, alone, depressed, broke, eating a horrible diet, not exercising, and I didn't have a clue as to what to do with my life.

I was "lost" in that state for a few more years.  During that time my overall health did nothing but plummet.  Finally, after having debilitating depression and anxiety for a period of several weeks I was at a breaking point.

I knew there had to be more to life than feeling miserable about myself all the time. I was "sick and tired of being sick and tired" and was willing to do anything to make myself better.

I started was reading self-help books by Tony Robbins, Eckhart Tolle, Jerry and Esther Hicks, and Jim Rohn.  Reading their books was the turning  point in my life because for the first time I realized that my condition was no one's fault but my own.  It was my own daily habits and negative, pessimistic thinking that brought my suffering, nothing else...

So I started to transform my daily habits one at a time. First, I educated myself by reading everything I could about health and wellness. I read books by doctors, natural health gurus, fitness experts, and food industry whistleblowers.

I turned off my television and shoved aside all of the junk "they" market to me and started to eat organic food. I started exercising every day. And I will admit it, eating the right food and exercising wasn't easy, but once I had educated myself and contrasted that against "what we are told" by doctors, the government, T.V., and the media it was clear that my new path was the right one to follow.

When I finally committed to putting my well-being first I began to feel really good, for the first time in a long time.

It's been four years now and I have never returned to my bad habits. I'm committed to living a healthy life, for the rest of my life. My own transformation and discoveries are what inspired me to teach the truth about health and wellness to as many people as I can through DietHealthAndFitness.com.

I truly hope you utilize the resources on the site, share what you learn with others, and are blessed with health and wellness...for good.

You see, I've been interested in my health ever since I was a kid. I don't know about you but I've always loved playing sports ever since I can remember. And as an athlete you had to get through the bumps and bruises as fast as you could if you wanted to play again the next day.

So, I always tried to eat right, exercise and practice as much as I could. Lucky for me, my mother is an incredible cook and always had a nice meal ready for me every night. (thanks mom) I pretty much practiced 'something' every single day, whether it was football, baseball or basketball, you always knew where to find me.

I'll start by saying that I had to be one of the luckiest kids around.

At 12 years old, my baseball team made it to the Bambino Little League World Series and at 13 years old, my football team won the Pop Warner National Championship on Nickelodeon. It was special time in my life that I will definitely not forget because most kids never get a chance to do something like that.

When I got to high school I played both football and baseball and by my senior year, I knew that football was what I wanted to pursue.

So, I was always in the weight room lifting and getting stronger so I could compete at the next level. All I ever heard was "you're too small" or "you're too weak" or "you're too slow" to play football in college. I was a middle linebacker who was a whopping 5'10" 185lbs. trying to play college football...and no one thought I could do it.

Quick question for you, are you the kind of person that just absolutely gets amped up and motivated when other people 'don't think you can do it'? When people doubt you, do you step up to their challenge or step away?

If you're like me, you not only step up, you step over and above.

That's exactly what I did. I stepped over and above and not only played college football but was a damn good player at that. I finished my college career at Western Connecticut State University as a two time All-American middle linebacker and two-time team captain and when I finished my three years there we had an overall record of 28-4 and two champiosnhip rings.

I guess my point is that by being so involved in sports and around so many athletes throughout my life, it just came natural to me to want to be in the best shape I could be in and share what I had learned with others.

I realize that unless you were an athlete, you probably didn't think twice about taking protein or a multi-vitamin on a regular basis, nevermind getting outside and exercising a little bit.

Now don't get me wrong, I knew plenty of people who 'wanted' to get into shape. I also knew plenty of people who didn't know where to get information on what to do or how to do it.

We put this site together for people who are looking for solutions to their health concerns. We want to be your resource for tips, tricks and information on quality products for all types of health related topics.
